Having an Arbor Day book is an opportunity to involve children with the vital importance that trees have in all of our lives. I remember as a kid how involved my father was with the planting, growing and harvesting of trees. Trees were an integral part of our everyday lives in so many different ways.
Fruit trees were grafted and planted in our yard and along our farm lanes and hedgerows. We grew apples, pears, cherries, apricots, peaches and plums of many varieties. We enjoyed these fruits straight off the trees as well as preserved in an assortment of different ways for winter treats.
We collected sap from our sugar maples to make maple syrup and maple sugar to supplement our cooking needs.
We also had relationships with many non-fruit bearing trees that when selectively harvested were used for building, heating and decorative purposes. Trees were high in importance-- on a par with the value of our animals. All life was a gift and treated with utmost respect. We sustained our trees and animals and they sustained us, a perfect symbiotic relationship.
Trees are the symbol of the perfect Win/Win relationship on which our Custom Book Small Business Marketing Magic has its foundation.
I WISH I COULD is book 16 in the Rhyme for Young Readers Series presented by QuickTurtle Books®.
The souls of trees are ancient and full of wisdom. Trees are harbor to all forms of life, have idiosyncratic personalities, beauty and a lifetime of struggles and injuries just like a person or animal.
This book is for and about trees and the importance of Arbor Day for kids.
Our Arbor Day book is a celebration of America's creative heritage. Its cities are built of and around trees. Trees have long been part of the skin and bones of civilized life.
The planting and caring for trees should be an interwoven part of everyone's routine. They nurture and beautify, they protect and serve, they filter and give us the very air we breath.
